I love to write, some may say I'm a writer. But as a writer, the one thing I struggle with is writing about myself. Ironic, right? But what I do love, is writing papers, especially research papers. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, "Arionna, you’re a nerd!" Yeah......I am. And I'm okay with that. I mean, my favorite things to do are watch the Lord of the Rings and play Assassin’s Creed, so “nerd" definitely fits me. I guess I’m not your average, run-of-the-mill college girl. I’m just somewhere in between normal and Pluto.
Your post made me feel actively engaged since you broke the fourth wall. It was a different feel from some of the other posts in that I no longer felt like you were just describing yourself and anyone passing by would hear(read in this case), but more so directed at me as the reader.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your post, because I also enjoy writing. Writing about oneself is probably one of the hardest tasks in the world, because there is just so much to say but no idea how to say it. I love that you find yourself a dork- your personality is very and real! I like the way you say "I'm somewhere in between normal and Pluto." Your voice is very strong.
ReplyDeleteAlthough you didn't mention the word "home" once, I felt that you were communicating your home rather than naming, you described it. I got the sense that your home is wherever you happen to be when you can identify more about yourself and feel comfortable and confident in who you are; and that space happens to be so vast that it's "somewhere in between normal and Pluto". It's beautiful! Blog well done!
